Jorge Mateo, a Baltimore Orioles second baseman, hurt his left elbow during a game against the Marlins on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. He got into a collision with shortstop Gunnar Henderson while trying to catch a ball in the middle of the field in the third inning.
Mateo's arm twisted in an unusual way, and he had to be taken off the field right away. X-rays showed no broken bones, but the full extent of his injury is still being checked. The seriousness of the injury is not yet known.
