Ronwen Williams, the goalkeeper for 'Mamelodi Sundowns', was a big winner at the PSL awards, which were held online for the fourth consecutive year on Sunday night. At 32 years old, he became the first goalkeeper since Itumeleng Khune in 2013 to win the coveted PSL Footballer of the Season award. He also was awarded the title of DStv Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season. Ronwen Williams, the captain of Bafana Bafana, won the top award by defeating his teammate Teboho Mokoena and Stellenbosch FC’s Iqraam Rayners.

At the same time, Rulani Mokwena, the coach for Sundowns, had a successful season and won the DStv Premiership Coach of the Season award. He impressed Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro and Stellenbosch FC coach Steve Barker. Grant Kekana received the DStv Premiership Defender of the Season award, and Patrick Maswanganyi was chosen as Midfielder of the Season. Maswanganyi also obtained the Nedbank Cup Player of the Season award and the DStv Premiership Player’s Player of the Season.

Pirates’ rising star Relebohile Mofokeng won two awards, including Young Player of the Season and Nedbank Cup Most Promising Player of the Tournament. Sipho Chaine was awarded the MTN8 Last Man Standing prize for his excellent performance, especially during the penalty shootout in the final, which helped the Pirates defeat the Sundowns. Titus was awarded the Carling Knockout Player of the Tournament for his important contribution in helping his team to win the trophy. Moreover, Sundowns was honored with the Chairman’s Award for its outstanding accomplishments in the past decade.
