Queen of Tears Ending Explained

In the beginning of the show, we learned that Hong Hae-in (played by Kim Ji-won) had a tumor in her brain that couldn't be removed. As the episodes go on, they talk about different ways to treat it, think about them, and eventually agree to one, even though it's expensive - not just in money, but in memories too.

Because the operation affects the part of her brain where memories are stored, she has to remember everything all over again. This does two things in the show: it gives Yoon Eun-seung one more chance to win the love of his life, even if he has to be sneaky about it. And as Hong Hae-in remembers her past again, it helps her see old problems in a new way.

And as Secretary Na (played by Yoon Bomi) says, in the end, love, loyalty, and friendship win. Everyone ends up happy. Even though Hong Hae-in was told she had cancer at the beginning of the show, she lives until she's almost 84. When she dies in 2074, Baek Hyun-woo visits her grave - supposedly in the German town where they went on their honeymoon and fell in love all over again. It all ends with a touching message: as long as we're together, we can handle anything.

Queen of Tears Episode 16 Recap

Episode 16 of "The Queen of Tears" starts with Hyun-woo getting into an accident, but it turns out that Eun-seong didn't cause it. He's taken to the hospital emergency room where his parents visit him and learn that he's badly hurt - his ribs and liver are damaged. However, Hyun-woo is missing.

Hae-in wakes up from a dream about when Hyun-woo proposed to her at the aquarium. She remembers warning him about her family, but he still wanted to marry her. Now, she finds herself in a strange place and sees Eun-seong, whose behavior seems crazy. She decides it's safer to go along with his plans and agrees to marry him. Eun-seong tells her they'll be leaving for the States early in the morning by helicopter to get married there.

Meanwhile, Grace tells Seul-hee that Hae-in vanished because of Hyun-woo's instructions. Hyun-woo believes Seul-hee can find Eun-seong faster. Seul-hee tries to move some money but finds out Eun-seong already changed it to dollars and transferred it. So, Seul-hee also heads to the hunting grounds. Hyun-woo and his friend Kim Yang-gil check the CCTV footage to find Hae-in. They eventually arrive at the hunting grounds where Eun-seong and Hae-in are located.
