Sturgill Simpson is now using a new stage name, "Johnny Blue Skies," and has announced a new album called "Passage Du Desir." The Grammy-winning singer worked with David Ferguson to produce this latest project. It's set to be released on July 12, later this summer.
He is going on tour in 2024 called the 'Why Not? Tour.' Starting August 11, it will cover 29 cities in North America and Canada to promote his new album. His upcoming album, Passage Du Desir will be the first released under his new stage name. It features eight tracks including Swamp Of Sadness, If The Sun Never Rises Again, and Scooter Blues.

Tickets for the tour supporting the album will first be available through a special sale for fans. This starts at 10 a.m. PDT on June 12. Fans might need to sign up on the singer's website to get the code for this special sale. The Live Nation presale for Sturgill Simpson's 'Why Not?' tour starts on June 13 at 10 a.m. PDT. Some tour venues will also have their presales at the same time. The general sale for tour tickets will start on June 14 at 10 a.m. PDT. Fans can book tickets through Ticketmaster.com for a limited time or until they're sold out.
Where will Sturgill Simpson Perform the Tour 2024?
Sturgill Simpson's tour starts on August 11 with a concert at the Outside Lands music festival in San Francisco. After a break, he'll resume the tour on September 14, performing in cities like Los Angeles, Bend, George, Minneapolis, Lexington, and Detroit.
In October, he'll have two back-to-back concerts in Chicago, then move on to Brandon, Austin, Oklahoma, Rogers, Pittsburgh, New York, Ashville, Cary, Duluth, and Nashville for more shows. After a short break in November, Sturgill Simpson will perform at The Met in Philadelphia on November 2. Then, he'll have two more concerts at the Hampton Coliseum and The Anthem in Washington DC before heading to Canada.
Although the Canadian leg of the tour has fewer dates, Sturgill is making it special with a two-day concert in Toronto on November 20 and 21. These concerts will take place at the Massey Hall, which can hold over 2,700 attendees. Sturgill Simpson will end the tour in North America on November 23. The final concert of the fall tour will be at the MGM Music Hall in Boston.

About Sturgill Simpson
Sturgill Simpson is a singer-songwriter and actor from America. He has released seven albums on his own by February 2022. People like his music style, and critics often compare it to outlaw country music. He is also known as Johnny Blue Skies. His first two albums, "High Top Mountain" and "Metamodern Sounds in Country Music," were released independently in the US in 2013 and 2014. They were also released in Europe through the British record label Loose. "Metamodern Sounds in Country Music" got nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Americana Album. It was also ranked 18th on Rolling Stone's "50 Best Albums of 2014" list and included in "NPR's 50 Favorite Albums of 2014."
Simpson's third album, "A Sailor's Guide to Earth," came out in April 2016 on Atlantic Records, winning Best Country Album at the 59th Grammy Awards. His fourth album, "Sound & Fury," was released in 2019, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.
In 2020, he released two albums, "Cuttin' Grass, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2," featuring bluegrass versions of his songs, marking his return to independent music. His seventh album, "The Ballad of Dood and Juanita," released in August 2021, is said to be his final one under the name Sturgill Simpson.
