Which Legendary New York Yankees Player Holds the Record With an Incredible 56-Game Hitting Streak?
Joe DiMaggio holds the record with a 56-game hitting streak. On May 15, 1941, Joe DiMaggio singled off White Sox Eddie Smith in the Major League Baseball (MLB) season, starting a hit streak that lasted 56 games. In the first inning versus Chicago, Joe DiMaggio lined a single into left center field, scoring Phil Rizzuto's only run of the game. His run lasted from May 15 to July 16, during which he had .408 batting average.
