Who are Commentators Olympic Gymnastics?
The gymnastics commentators at the Paris Olympics include some really famous names, many of whom are Olympic champions themselves.
Laurie Hernandez:
Laurie won a gold medal in gymnastics at the 2016 Rio Olympics and is back as a live analyst. She was also a commentator at the Tokyo Olympics but had to give up competing because of an injury.

Rich Lerner:
Rich is the play-by-play commentator and has covered the Olympics four times before, starting with golf at the 2016 Rio Games. He’s been with the Golf Channel since 1997.
Justin Spring:
Justin is new to this Olympics as an analyst and won a bronze medal in gymnastics at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Zora Stephenson:
Zora will report both during the day and in the evening. She’s known for being a sideline reporter for Notre Dame Football and was the first woman to do play-by-play for a Milwaukee Bucks game.
John Roethlisberger:
John is a three-time Olympic gymnast from 1992, 1996, and 2000, and he’ll be an analyst and reporter in the evening.
Samantha Peszek:
Samantha is making her Olympics debut as an analyst for the evening show. She won a silver medal in 2008 and has won several awards in NCAA balance beam.
Tim Daggett:
Tim will be an analyst in the evening and won both a gold and a bronze medal at the 1984 Olympics. He also helped UCLA win the NCAA title that year.
Terry Gannon:
Terry will do the play-by-play for the evening show. He’s been with NBC Sports since 2010 and has covered seven Olympics. He was also on the 1983 North Carolina State University basketball team that won a National Championship.

For the 2024 Olympics, NBC has some awesome announcers for gymnastics. They are really good at explaining all the exciting moves and routines. Here’s who you’ll hear during the gymnastics events:

Laurie Hernandez, who won gold at the 2016 Olympics, is one of the new commentators. Justin Spring and Samantha Peszek are also former Olympic gymnasts, and Tim Daggett has won gold and bronze medals in the 1984 Olympics. John Roethlisberger competed in three different Olympics and is also part of the team.
Paris Olympics 2024
The 2024 Summer Olympics, called Paris 2024, will happen from July 24 to August 11, 2024. The opening ceremony was on July 26. Paris is the main host city, with events also in 16 other French cities and one place in Tahiti, French Polynesia. Paris won the right to host the Games on September 13, 2017, after a vote. It was chosen along with Los Angeles for future Olympics.
Paris has hosted the Olympics before, in 1900 and 1924, so this is the third time it's hosting. It’s also celebrating 100 years since the 1924 Paris Olympics and the first Winter Olympics in Chamonix. The 2024 Games will feature break dancing for the first time and will be the last Olympics held while Thomas Bach is the IOC president. The Games are expected to cost €9 billion.
