Yulo's win comes three years after weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won the Philippines' first-ever gold medal. Competing third out of eight in the floor exercise, Yulo amazed the crowd and judges with his routine. He received the highest difficulty score of 6.600 and executed his routine flawlessly with a score of 8.400, totaling 15.000.
