Ser Otto Hightower was a very important knight who lived a long time ago. He was part of a big family called House Hightower. He helped three kings: Jaehaerys I, Viserys I, and Aegon II. He was one of the leaders of a group called the Greens during a big event called the Dance of the Dragons.

Ser Otto was born into a family of knights and was the younger brother of a lord named Hobert. He had two children, Gwayne and Alicent, with his wife, Alyrie. He became very important when King Jaeharys I chose him to be his Hand of the King, which means he helped the king make big decisions.

Where is Otto Hightower?

Otto Hightower might have been taken prisoner by enemies in the Reach. One possible place where he could be held is Honeyholt, the castle of House Beesbury. This makes sense because Otto was last seen heading back to the Reach, and House Beesbury has a reason to capture him, especially after the death of Lyman Beesbury.

In Season 3 of "House of the Dragon," there might be a storyline where Prince Daeron Targaryen and his dragon, Tessarion, break Otto out of prison. This could lead to Otto joining the Battle of the Honeywine before he returns to King's Landing.

Who Killed Otto Hightower?

Rhaenyra Targaryen is the cause of Otto Hightower’s Death. In the book Fire & Blood, Otto Hightower meets a very harsh end not long after he loses his position as Hand of the King. After he is removed from his job, Otto stays in King's Landing, specifically in the Red Keep. He doesn’t leave the city.

Later, Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen come to King's Landing on their dragons. They arrive after Aemond and his dragon, Vhagar, leave to attack another place. Rhaenyra takes over King's Landing and forces the Greens to give up. Because of this, Otto is executed for being a traitor, and Rhaenyra orders that he beheaded.

Otto Hightower Death

Otto Hightower is a character many fans dislike because he is very skilled and clever. Those who support the Blacks want him out. He started as Hand of the King for Viserys Targaryen but was fired for trying to change the heir to Aegon II. He was rehired by Viserys and continued as Hand for Aegon II.

In Season 2, Episode 2, of House of the Dragon, Otto is fired again by Aegon II after an outburst. He plans to go to Oldtown but may visit Highgarden first. In the book Fire & Blood, Otto is killed by Rhaenyra’s order after she takes King's Landing. The show might change this by letting Otto go to Oldtown to delay his death.
