Who is the Killer in Presumed Innocent?
In Presumed Innocent, Carolyn Polhemus is found dead in her living room, and the main suspect is Rusty Sabich, her colleague and lover. Rusty's fingerprints are found at the crime scene, and he is worried about his reputation because Carolyn was pregnant with his child. Another suspect is Michael Caldwell, Carolyn's secret son, who might have a hidden motive. Lastly, there's Liam Reynolds, who has a strong alibi since he is in prison, but he might have orchestrated the murder for revenge. As the show progresses, viewers need to watch closely for more clues to uncover the true killer.
Presumed Innocent
Presumed Innocent is a legal thriller miniseries on Apple TV+. It was created by David E. Kelley and is based on Scott Turow's 1987 novel. This is the first time the book has been made into a TV series. There was a film version in 1990 with Harrison Ford and Brian Dennehy. The new series started on June 12, 2024.
Presumed Innocent Plot
The series Presumed Innocent is based on Scott Turow’s 1987 novel and follows the story of Rožat "Rusty" Sabich, a prosecutor in Kindle County. Rusty is accused of murdering his colleague and former lover, Carolyn Polhemus. The show delves into themes of innocence, guilt, marriage, fidelity, jealousy, rage, and obsession.
Unlike the novel, which is narrated from Rusty's unreliable perspective, the series has more time to develop characters and explore Rusty's inner thoughts over eight episodes. Although the series sticks to the main plot points of Rusty being charged with Carolyn's murder, it introduces significant and sometimes inexplicable changes to the original story.
