Who Kills Daemon Targaryen?

In "Fire & Blood," Daemon Targaryen meets his end in a dramatic aerial battle known as the Battle Above the Gods Eye. Facing his nephew Aemond Targaryen, who rides the dragon Vhagar, Daemon confronts him in a bid to turn the tide for the Blacks during the Dance of the Dragons civil war.

In a daring move, Daemon plunges his sword, Dark Sister, into Aemond's blind eye, severely injuring him. He then leaps from his dragon, Caraxes, onto Vhagar, intending to finish Aemond. The two dragons, locked in combat, crash into the Gods Eye, a massive lake in Westeros. Caraxes manages to crawl ashore and dies there, while Aemond and Vhagar sink into the lake. Despite efforts to find his body, Daemon's fate remains uncertain, with historians speculating he perished in the Gods Eye's depths during this pivotal moment in Targaryen history.

Do Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen Have a Child?

Yes, Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen have several children together. They had two sons named Aegon III and Viserys II. Aegon III became the seventh King of Westeros after the Dance of the Dragons war, and Viserys II also briefly ruled as the tenth king. Additionally, Rhaenyra had other children from her previous marriage to Laenor Velaryon: Jacaerys, Lucerys, Joffrey, and a daughter named Visenya who was stillborn. These children played significant roles in the Targaryen succession and the conflicts depicted in "Fire & Blood" and "House of the Dragon."

Daemon Targaryen First Wife

Daemon Targaryen's first wife was Lady Rhea Royce. She came from House Royce and was known as the Lady of the Runestone. Queen Alysanne Targaryen, who was the grandmother of Daemon and Viserys, arranged their marriage to strengthen the relationship with House Royce. At that time, Daemon wasn't expected to become king, so this marriage gave him a significant position. The Royces were loyal supporters of House Arryn, who had close ties with the Targaryens. This marriage helped to solidify alliances between these noble houses in the realm of Westeros.

House of the Dragon

"House of the Dragon" is an American fantasy drama TV series created by George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal for HBO. It serves as a prequel to "Game of Thrones," set nearly 200 years before those events. The show delves into the history of House Targaryen, focusing on the "Dance of the Dragons," a brutal civil war for succession. The first season, based on Martin's book "Fire & Blood," premiered on August 21, 2022, with ten episodes.

It was well-received for its character development, visual effects, and performances, though criticized for pacing issues and dark lighting. The series garnered over 10 million viewers on its debut day, breaking HBO records. It won a Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Drama and received multiple Emmy nominations. The second season, set to premiere on June 16, 2024, continues under Ryan Condal's sole showrunning, with a third season already confirmed.
