Why is Jane the Virgin Leaving Netflix?
Jane the Virgin is leaving Netflix in the US because the streaming service's deal with The CW, the network that originally aired the show, has ended. This deal allowed Netflix to stream completed seasons of CW shows after they aired on TV. Now, Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns the rights to Jane the Virgin, wants to bring its content back to its own streaming service, Max.
The show will be removed from Netflix on September 6, 2024, with September 5 being the last day to watch it. Fans are upset, as evidenced by numerous social media reactions, expressing frustration over losing the show from Netflix. Jane the Virgin

Created by Jennie Snyder Urman, the show is a loose adaptation of the Venezuelan telenovela Juana la virgen. It stars Gina Rodriguez as Jane Gloriana Villanueva, a devout young woman who becomes pregnant due to an accidental artificial insemination.
The series is known for its clever parody of telenovela tropes and received critical acclaim for its writing and Rodriguez's performance. Jane the Virgin Plot
Jane the Virgin is set in Miami and follows Jane Gloriana Villanueva, a young, religious Venezuelan-American woman who loves writing and telenovelas.
