Tyrus Career
After signing with WWE, Murdoch trained in developmental territories as G-Rilla, a street thug, before moving to Florida Championship Wrestling. In 2010, he returned as Brodus Clay on NXT and became Alberto Del Rio's bodyguard. Clay later transformed into "The Funkasaurus," a fun-loving dancer with backup dancers called The Funkadactyls. He had a successful run, winning many matches until 2014. Clay then started to show a darker side, leading to his release from WWE on June 12, 2014.
Tyrus debuted in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in 2014 and quickly teamed up with Ethan Carter III. He had several matches, including winning the number one contender spot for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Tyrus left TNA in 2017 due to discomfort with management changes. He returned briefly in 2018 but left again because of poor booking decisions.
