Why isn't Daphne in Bridgerton Season 3?

Daphne isn't in Bridgerton Season 3 her character's story was complete after two seasons. Dynevor who played Daphne explained in an interview that she had accomplished what she wanted with Daphne and decided to move on. In Season 2, Daphne had a smaller role because she was busy with her duties as a duchess and taking care of her family. The same can be assumed for Season 3, even though her character is mentioned by other family members.

Daphne's Role in Bridgerton Season 3

Daphne is the fourth Bridgerton child and the oldest daughter. When Daphne was young, her father died. During this difficult time, her mother went into labor. To comfort her sister Eloise and block out their mother's screams, Daphne sang to her. She is a beautiful young debutante who has been looking forward to her debut in society for her whole life. She is expected to be the star of the 1813 season. However, things don’t go as planned. Her brother Anthony is very protective and scares off most of her potential suitors. But neither of them expected the impact of her accidental meeting with Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings.

Who plays Daphne in Bridgerton?

Phoebe Dynevor is an English actress best known for playing Daphne, the fourth Bridgerton child, in the Netflix show Bridgerton from 2020 to 2022. She has also appeared in movies like The Colour Room (2021), Bank of Dave (2023), and Fair Play (2023). In 2024, she was nominated for a BAFTA Rising Star Award.

Dynevor started her acting career as a child in the BBC One school drama Waterloo Road (2009–2010). She then had recurring roles in the BBC series Prisoners' Wives (2012–2013) and Dickensian (2015–2016), and in the TV Land comedy-drama Younger (2017–2021). She also had a main role in the Crackle crime series Snatch (2017–2018).

Bridgerton

Bridgerton is an American historical romance TV series created by Chris Van Dusen for Netflix, based on books by Julia Quinn. It's Shondaland's first scripted show for Netflix and is set in an alternate Regency-era London.
