Reports of issues started around 2:15 p.m. ET, with over 23,000 reports by 2:25 p.m. Most users had trouble logging in. Some saw messages saying the service was undergoing "scheduled maintenance."

At 2:55 p.m. ET, the official Xbox Support account acknowledged that some users were disconnected from Xbox Live and said they were investigating. They directed users to check the Xbox status page, which later confirmed a major issue with the "Account & profile" service starting at 2:07 p.m. ET. This caused problems like difficulty signing in, disconnections while using the service, and other related issues. Features requiring sign-in, such as games, apps, and social activities, were also affected.

Microsoft requires users to have a free Xbox Live account to play games online and use Xbox features on consoles, Windows PCs, and mobile apps.

Is Xbox Live Back Now?

Yes, Microsoft fixed the technical problems that had stopped Xbox Live from working for almost seven hours. The Xbox Support account said at 8:49 p.m. ET that users shouldn't have trouble signing in anymore. They thanked everyone for their patience and said, 'Keep playing!' So, as the Xbox live is back now, users can play without any disruptions.

What to Do If I Can't Log In to the Xbox Console?
