Apocalyptica
Apocalyptica is a band from Helsinki, Finland, started in 1993. The group is known for its unique music style, which combines heavy metal with classical music. All the cellists were trained in classical music, and Mikko has a background in jazz drumming.
Initially, Apocalyptica played covers of Metallica songs using only cellos, which gave them a distinctive sound. Over time, they developed their own style, mixing classical and metal music without using typical rock instruments like guitars and bass. Their innovative approach has been very successful, and they have sold over four million albums worldwide.
