The Destiny 2 servers are up now. Sometimes, Destiny game services will be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or updates. Why are Destiny 2 Servers Down?
Destiny 2 servers need maintenance to ensure a smooth launch. During normal launches, over 100,000 players try to access the game on Steam simultaneously, which can stress the servers. During expansions, this number can reach half a million, leading to delays and extended downtime.
Currently, Destiny 2 servers will undergo maintenance lasting 3 hours and 15 minutes across all regions. The servers will be back online for the Episode Echoes launch at 10 am PT, UTC -7.
Destiny 2
Destiny 2 is an online shooter game made by Bungie. It first came out in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows as a paid game. In October 2019, it switched to a free-to-play model called New Light. It was released on Stadia the next month and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in December 2020.
