Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Dry Leaf Dane Questline

Dryleaf Dane is a new character in the Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree. He is a loyal follower of Miquella and has an important side quest that ties into the main story.

First Encounter with Dryleaf Dane

Before you meet Dryleaf Dane in person, you can summon him to help in a boss fight. After defeating the boss, go to the High Road Cross Site of Grace, north of the Castle Ensis exit. Here, you'll meet Needle Knight Leda and Hornsent.

Finding the Monk’s Missive

At the High Road Cross Site of Grace, pick up an item called the Monk’s Missive. It has a drawing of a monk and a message saying to seek the monk to the east for a warrior's challenge. You also get the gesture "May the Best Win," which you’ll need later.

Updated Map and Miquella’s Crosses

Talk to Hornsent to get an updated map showing Miquella’s Crosses. One cross is in the south of Scadu Altus, near Moorth Ruins. This is where you can find Dryleaf Dane.

Meeting Dryleaf Dane at Moorth Ruins

When you reach Moorth Ruins, pick up the Scadutree Fragment near Miquella’s Cross. Use the "May the Best Win" gesture towards Dryleaf Dane to be transported to another realm for a fight. After you defeat him, you'll return to the Site of Grace and find a note and items: Dryleaf Arts and Dane’s Hat. The note says, "Grow not complacent. Continue to temper your strength."

Returning to Leda

You can now go back to Leda and ask about the silent monk.

Ancient Ruins of Rauh

At the Ancient Ruins of Rauh, you’ll find another of Miquella's Crosses and another Scadutree Fragment, along with a message from Dane.

Final Encounter with Dryleaf Dane

In the final legacy dungeon, you'll meet Needle Knight Leda again. She will challenge you to a fight. Depending on your choices, you may fight Leda and Dane. After this battle, you can find Dane’s body in the arena and collect these items:

• Dryleaf Robe
• Dryleaf Arm Wraps
• Dryleaf Cuissardes
• Dane’s Footwork

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Dry Leaf Dane Location

In the Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, you can find Dryleaf Dane while exploring Scadu Altus. He is located at the Moorth Ruins Site of Grace. To reach him, head to the southern part of Scadu Altus. Look for Miquella's Cross nearby and use the gesture "May the Best Win" towards him.

This will trigger a fight with Dane in another realm. After defeating him, you'll return to the Moorth Ruins Site of Grace, where you can collect items and read a note left by Dane.

In this new adventure, players are guided by Empyrean Miquella to the Land of Shadow, a mysterious place hidden by the Erdtree where the goddess Marika first arrived. Players will explore new areas, and dungeons, and face menacing enemies.

The expansion introduces new weapons, skills, magic, and bosses, enhancing the RPG experience. To play Shadow of the Erdtree, you need the Elden Ring base game. A bundle is available that includes both the base game and the expansion. The expansion can be used on PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as Xbox One and Series X|S. Shadow of the Erdtree offers a rich, expanded world for players to discover and conquer.
