ESPY Awards 2024 Nominations
Basketball star Caitlin Clark, who had a standout year by breaking an NCAA scoring record and becoming the top pick in the WNBA draft, leads the pack with three nominations for the 2024 ESPY Awards, announced on Wednesday.
Clark is nominated in three categories: Record-Breaking Performance for her NCAA achievement, Best College Athlete, Women’s Sports, and the prestigious Best Athlete, Women’s Sports. In the Best Athlete, Men’s Sports category, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is back to defend his 2023 ESPY win after leading the Chiefs to their second consecutive Super Bowl victory.
Other nominees include Los Angeles Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani, Edmonton Oilers' Connor McDavid, and Masters winner Scottie Scheffler. Both Mahomes and Ohtani are vying for their second career wins in this category, hoping to join the ranks of LeBron James, Lance Armstrong, and Tiger Woods as multiple-time winners.
