Gley in The First Descendant

Gley is a character in The First Descendant, a game where characters replace traditional classes. Each character, like Gley, has unique abilities and special moves. Gley is known for her high-risk, high-reward gameplay style. She can deal a lot of damage if you're skilled enough, but she also offers options to prioritize survival.

This makes her strong yet versatile, not easily defeated like some other characters. To play as Gley, you need to unlock her by progressing through the game. This involves finding specific materials and completing missions. Once unlocked, you can use Gley's powerful abilities to overcome challenges in The First Descendant.

How to Play Gley?

Playing as Gley requires focusing on three key things: your weapon choice, character modules, and your own skill as a player. Gley's gameplay revolves around collecting life spheres dropped by defeated enemies to boost her power. You can also activate Frenzied mode by sacrificing some of her health (HP), which significantly increases her damage output. This requires balancing between gathering life spheres and wisely using HP to maximize damage without putting Gley at risk.

Dealing Damage: Gley is best suited for dealing damage, especially against single targets rather than groups of enemies. Her abilities enhance her strength directly rather than relying on elemental attacks.

Movement and Speed: Gley moves at an average speed compared to other characters in the game. Be cautious when using her ability to Increased Sensory, especially during Frenzied mode, as it can temporarily reduce her movement speed.

Facing Bosses: Gley excels in battles against bosses due to her ability to focus on single targets. This makes her a strong choice for taking down powerful enemies.

Survival Strategies: Gley’s abilities offer different versions depending on whether she’s in Frenzied mode or not. Non-Frenzied abilities focus on defensive buffs or healing, giving you options to prioritize survival over dealing damage in challenging situations.

Mastering Gley involves understanding these mechanics and adapting your gameplay strategy to maximize her strengths while managing her vulnerabilities.

Gley’s Story

Gley was once the captain of Albion’s Medical Corps and had a daughter named Dia Elias. Sadly, they were both lost during a battle, which made Gley determined to keep Dia away from any fighting. Despite Gley’s wishes, Dia asked Ajax, a colleague and fellow Descendant, to write a letter recommending her for military enlistment. Ajax agreed, even though he knew about Gley’s tragic past, which strained their relationship.

Gley’s worst fears came true when both she and Dia were captured by the Order of Truth. They were subjected to terrible experiments involving injecting Vulgus DNA into humans. After waking up in a destroyed medical facility, Gley was rescued by the Medical Corps, but Dia was missing. With no sign of Dia's body, Gley held onto hope that her daughter might still be alive, earning her the nickname “Hope Seeker.”

Determined to honor the Medical Corps’ motto, “Until the very end,” Gley began her quest to find Dia. And that’s Gley’s story! For more about The First Descendant, check out our guides on Mastery Ranks, weapons, and the best Bunny build.
