Judas Priest
Judas Priest is an English heavy metal band formed in Birmingham in 1969. Known as one of the greatest metal bands of all time, they have sold over 50 million albums. The band gained mainstream attention with their sixth album, British Steel, in 1980. Judas Priest's lineup has seen many changes, but the core members include bassist Ian Hill, lead singer Rob Halford, and guitarist Glenn Tipton.
Halford is known for his powerful, operatic vocals, and the band's twin guitar sound has greatly influenced heavy metal music. Despite facing challenges in the 1990s, Judas Priest has enjoyed a resurgence with worldwide tours, awards, and features in video games like Guitar Hero. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022. Judas Priest's iconic leather-and-spike image was influential during the 1980s glam metal era, and they continue to be a major force in heavy metal music.
