Kaiju no 8 Plot
After their town is destroyed by giant monsters called kaiju, childhood friends Kafka Hibino and Mina Ashiro pledge to join the Defense Force together. Mina becomes the captain of the Third Division, while Kafka, now 32, works in a team that cleans up kaiju remains.
Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa, an aspiring Defense Force member, reigniting his desire to join. However, a parasitic creature accidentally gives Kafka the ability to transform into a kaiju. Known as "Kaiju No. 8," he joins the Defense Force while keeping his kaiju form a secret.
Kafka and Reno pass the exam and join the Third Division with talented kaiju slayer Kikoru Shinomiya. They face dangerous kaiju, including "Kaiju No. 9," leading to confrontations and battles as Kafka tries to protect his team and Japan from invasion.
