Suicide Squad Isekai Review
"Suicide Squad Isekai" brings a unique twist to DC Comics' antihero team, now animated in a fantasy anime style. Released on Hulu and Max, the series introduces characters like Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, King Shark, and Clayface, each with their own quirks and abilities.
Directed by Eri Osada and produced by Wit Studio and Warner Bros. Japan, the show blends superhero action with the isekai genre's concept of characters transported to another world through a portal controlled by Amanda Waller.
The initial episodes showcase the Squad's adventures in a fantastical realm filled with floating castles and fierce battles. While the animation vividly captures the comic book spirit and characters' iconic traits, the storytelling sometimes repeats scenarios, affecting the pacing. Despite this, the series offers entertaining action and comedic moments, appealing to DC fans interested in a fresh interpretation of the Suicide Squad concept.
