Three Plus
Three Plus is one of the most popular bands in Hawaii, making a big impact in the late 90s and remaining a beloved group on the islands. The band, known for its high energy, consists of three friends who bonded over their love of music and sports.
Marcus Malepeai, a 1992 graduate of Kailua High School, is now back at his old school as a varsity football coach. He learned to play the ‘ukulele while studying in Idaho and is now a Kanile’a artist, performing with his original bandmates Tanoa Kapana and Karl Zinsman.
Their debut album, “Honey Baby,” was released in September 1999 and quickly became a hit, topping local charts and staying number one on FM 100’s top 10 @10 for nine weeks. They sold over 40,000 copies and were nominated for three Na Hoku Hanohano awards.
