Where Was Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 Filmed?

Season 3 of "Mayor of Kingstown" started filming in January 2024, right there in Pittsburgh. They're getting ready to show it to us in June 2024! Kingston in Ontario, Canada

According to Decider, the pretend version of Kingstown, Michigan, from the show is based on a real place called Kingston in Ontario, Canada. Hugh Dillon, one of the creators, grew up in a city that is a lot like Kingstown in the series.

In the show, the McLusky brothers' office is at 290 Queenston Road in Glenview East, Hamilton. In the first episode of "Mayor of Kingstown," Mike and Mitch meet at Hamilton Beach. These are real places they used for filming!

Kingston Penitentiary in Canada

The scenes of the big prison in the show were filmed at Kingston Pen, an old, closed-down prison in Canada. Kingston Penitentiary has also been in other shows like Star Trek: Discovery and DC's Titans. It's one of the most important places where "Mayor of Kingstown" was filmed and is one of the city's oldest buildings.

Interestingly, a real person named Grace Marks, who was in the show Alias Grace, actually served her life sentence at Kingston Penitentiary, which was also used for filming that show. This very old prison, built in 1835, stopped being used in 2013. Now, people can take tours of this Victorian-era building while plans for its future are being made.

Toronto, Red Carriage Diner

Other scenes were shot at SCI Greensburg and SCI Pittsburgh, two decommissioned prisons. According to Trib Live, Dillon said they wanted to expand for Season 2, and Pittsburgh had the perfect places. He also mentioned they have plans for 10 seasons and are sticking around. On January 11, 2024, Paramount+ announced that Season 3 had started filming in Pittsburgh.

Is Mayor of Kingstown Based on a Real Place?
