Gyomei Himejima Backstory
Gyomei Himejima's backstory is one of tragedy, resilience, and immense strength. Born blind, Gyomei lived in a temple where he took care of nine orphaned children. Despite his disability, he was a gentle and caring guardian. One night, a demon invaded the temple and slaughtered all but one of the children.
In a desperate bid to protect them, Gyomei fought the demon with his bare hands, managing to fend it off until sunrise, when it perished. However, his heroism was misunderstood. When authorities arrived, they wrongly accused Gyomei of murdering the children and imprisoned him.
Fortunately, Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, saw Gyomei's potential and spared him from execution. Recognizing his immense strength and determination, Ubuyashiki recruited Gyomei into the Demon Slayer Corps. Gyomei's rise within the corps was swift. He became a Hashira, specifically the Stone Pillar, in just two months.
Gyomei used his acute sense of hearing to track the sound of the chain during battles, compensating for his blindness and making him the most powerful Hashira in the corps.
