Who is the Narrator in Sweet Tooth?

In the TV show Sweet Tooth, the person who talks to us throughout is James Brolin. He tells us what's happening and helps us understand the story. But in a big surprise at the end of season 3, we find out that the narrator is grown-up Gus, played by Christian Convery.
