Marvel Rivals is a new hero shooter game developed by NetEase Games in partnership with Marvel Games. It will be available for free on Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, featuring 21 Marvel characters. The story is about a tense encounter between Doctor Doom and his heroic counterpart from the year 2099. This meeting causes different universes to merge in an event called the 'Timestream Entanglement,' creating new worlds. As a result, heroes and villains from across the multiverse start fighting each other. Their main goal is to defeat both versions of Doctor Doom before either one takes control of the new worlds.

Marvel Rivals Gameplay

Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 third-person hero shooter game. Players can team up with different characters to create "Dynamic Hero Synergy," which boosts their combat abilities. The game has destructible environments that players can use to their advantage, watched over by Galacta.

As of June 2024, 21 characters have been announced, including Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Loki, Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Mantis, Namor, Peni Parker, Magik, Luna Snow, Storm, Magneto, the Punisher, Scarlet Witch, Hela, Venom, and Adam Warlock. There are two confirmed locations: Yggsgard (a mix of Asgard and Yggdrasil) and Tokyo of 2099. The game features three modes: Convoy, Domination, and Convergence.
