As of June 2024, Pixar hasn't said if there will be a third "Inside Out" movie with the same characters we love. But don't give up hope just yet! There's a chance we could see more of Riley's emotions in the future. The first two movies were a big hit, showing us the inner workings of Riley's mind and her feelings like Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust.
Fans have enjoyed exploring how these emotions work together and how they grow. Pixar often takes its time to develop sequels, making sure they're just as special as the originals. So, while there's no official announcement right now, fans can still be optimistic about the possibility of a third Inside Out movie down the road.
Inside Out 2
In 2024, Pixar made a new movie called Inside Out 2. It's a sequel to the first Inside Out from 2015. The film was directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen. Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Diane Lane, and Kyle MacLachlan came back to voice the main characters.
They are joined by new actors like Maya Hawke and Tony Hale. Inside Out 2 follows Riley's emotions as they deal with new feelings trying to take over her mind. The movie was announced in 2022 and premiered in Los Angeles in June 2024. It got good reviews and made a lot of money worldwide.
Inside Out 2 Gameplay
In the sequel to Inside Out, Riley, now 13, faces new challenges as she enters high school in San Francisco. Her emotions—Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, Disgust, and new ones like Anxiety and Envy—struggle to guide her through complex situations.
Joy tries to keep Riley positive, but Anxiety takes over, leading to conflicts with friends and causing Riley stress. Ultimately, Riley learns to accept her mixed emotions and find balance. She makes new friends on the hockey team while reconnecting with old ones, showing she can be herself and still succeed. The movie ends with Riley feeling confident and proud, embracing her evolving sense of self.
