Kye Whyte, a BMX racer from Great Britain, was injured in the second run of the men's semifinals at the Paris Olympics. He crashed after clipping the back tire of another racer just after the first jump. This happened shortly after his fifth-place finish in Heat 2 of the first run.
Whyte, who won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics, had to be taken off the course on a stretcher. Another racer, American Kamren Larsen, also crashed but was able to walk off the course. Kye Whyte Family
Kye Whyte comes from a big and supportive family. He has two older brothers, Daniel and Tre, and three sisters named Billie, Niah, and Lasharn. His dad, Nigel, co-founded the Peckham BMX Club and was Kye's first coach.
Nigel also coached Tre and Daniel, who both raced in BMX. Kye's mom, Tracey, and Nigel made many sacrifices to support their children's BMX training and competitions. Kye Whyte Career
Kye Whyte started riding BMX at the age of three at Brixton BMX Club in Brockwell Park, south London. After joining the British Cycling talent group, he suffered a serious crash that left him in an induced coma for five days and unable to ride for a year. In 2018, he won a European championship silver medal in Glasgow.
Kye achieved his first UCI BMX Supercross World Cup victory in Manchester in April 2019. Despite a strong performance at the 2019 UCI BMX World Championships, he finished fifth due to a crash. He won a silver medal at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics in June 2021. Additionally, Kye participated in the fourteenth series of Dancing on Ice.
