What Happened to Stetson Bennett? Has Stetson Bennett Failed to Meet Expectations?

What Happened to Stetson Bennett?

Stetson Bennett was a four-year starter for the Georgia Bulldogs and was a first-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Rams. Stetson played well in college and was selected later in the draft by the Rams because the team felt he needed more time to develop.

However, Stetson was diagnosed with a non-disclosure illness that sidelined him for the entire first season. No one has said much about Stetson's current status or if he will play again. The Rams coach Sean McVay said in a statement that Stetson is probably getting better right now, but I can't say for sure. Stetson Bennett's future with the Rams is a big question mark. The Rams have signed Carson Wentz to replace Stetson as their backup quarterback.

Has Stetson Bennett Failed to Meet Expectations?

It’s too early to say that Stetson has failed to live up to expectations. He was selected later in the draft, so there wasn’t as much pressure to be great right away. He also had some issues, such as not having all the traits that most teams look for in a quarterback, as well as some off-field problems. Since he hasn’t had much opportunity to play in the league, it’s hard to say if he’s lived up to expectations.

Some people may have expected more out of him because he performed so well at the college level, but others may have understood that he needs some time to grow as a player. It’s a bit of a mixed bag. We’ll have to see how he performs in the future to truly know.

Who is Stetson Bennett?

Stetson Fleming Bennett IV plays football for the Los Angeles Rams. He used to play for Georgia and Jones College in college. People call him "the Mailman". At first, he wasn't a big deal at Georgia. He had to work hard to get noticed.

Then, he moved to Jones College to play. After that, he went back to Georgia and won two big championships in a row in 2021 and 2022. Not many quarterbacks have done that before. Only A. J. McCarron and Tommie Frazier did it too. So, Stetson is special because he did something rare in football. Now, he's playing for the Rams in the NFL. They hope he can bring some of that winning spirit to their team.

QB Stetson Bennett Status Update

Stetson Bennett, the Rams’ new quarterback has been out of the team since September, and it’s been almost six months since he left. We still don’t know much about why Bennett left, or when he might return. He did play in some games before leaving but then had to step away due to an off-field issue.

Rams coach Sean McVay hasn’t said much about Bennett, and he’s still on the Rams’ active roster for next season with Dresser Winn. Neither of them is likely to be the best choice to replace Matthew Stafford as the Rams’ backup quarterback.

The Rams may have to look for a backup quarterback in the draft or in free agency. Bennett played for Georgia in college and won two national championships, but he’s always been considered a long shot to succeed in the NFL. We’ll have to see what happens with Bennett and when he’ll return to the team.
