After graduating from university, Alex Jones started as a television researcher but got fired twice. Once, she mistook Mike Peters from the band The Alarm for a workman fixing the office alarm. At 21, a producer asked her to audition in front of the camera. Her first presenting job was for BBC Choice, and she then joined S4C, presenting Cân i Gymru (A Song for Wales).
