Yes, Delezio is pregnant. Sophie, the brave burns survivor who has captivated the nation with her bravery, has announced she is expecting her first child.
Delezio, 23, lives in Sydney and announced the news on her Instagram page on Wednesday. She posted a photo of herself and her fiancé, Joseph Salerno, lounging on a beach with Salerno's arms around her and Delezio's growing baby bump in the background.
She also posted an ultrasound photo of her growing baby bump.

Who is Sophie Delezio?
Sophie Joy Martin Delezio was born on 3 April 2001 in Adelaide, Australia. She was tragically injured in two serious car accidents when she was very young.
In 2003, she was seriously injured in a car accident at her day care center in Adelaide. She sustained third-degree burns over 85 percent of her body and spent almost a year in hospital. She lost both her feet, several fingers and an ear.
In 2006, she was involved in another serious car accident.Sophie’s family has become very active fundraisers and campaigners for victims of conditions similar to her own. They have also raised money for The Children’s Hospital in Westmead.

Sophie is going to get married soon with her childhood friend Joseph Salerno. Sophie got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2023. She said, “Of course there are going to be comments about getting married so young. But we’ve been through so many journeys together, experienced so many hardships, and we’re thankful for that. We know we can withstand a lot of challenges, which is what marriage is about more than anything. Now we just want to embrace the happy times life offers.
“The biggest thing for me is that we have so much love and support around us. We want our wedding to be a celebration of our gratitude. There are so many people who have helped us get where we are today, and I wouldn’t be here without them.”
Sophie and Joseph first met in year 9 at oxford falls grammar school and quickly became close friends. They would spend afternoons with each other and even went as each other’s dates to their year 10 formal, though their relationship was still one-sided.

Sophie's story is one that Australians will never forget. On Christmas Day 2003, Sophie was trapped underneath a car as it careened through her daycare center in Sydney's Fairlight. She was only two years old and had third-degree burns covering 85% of her body. She also lost both her legs, several fingers and an ear. She spent almost a year in hospital recovering from her injuries.
Two years later, Sophie was pushed in her stroller by her nanny at a road crossing in Sydney's central West. The car careened into Sophie, sending her plunging 18 meters. She sustained a broken jaw, shoulder, bruising, left lung tear, multiple rib fractures, heart attack and a brain injury that will affect her ability to learn for the rest of her life. Over the years, Sophie's incredible positivity has been contagious, and her signature smile has stayed with her as she continues to grow into a vibrant young woman.
The accident left her with lifelong disabilities, but she never let them stop her from living a fulfilling and fulfilling life.
