Tama Tonga is not related to The Usos. Some believed that they might be because they were all wrestlers and came from wrestling backgrounds. The fathers of Tama Tonga and The Usos are Haku and Rikishi, respectively, but they come from different families. Tama Tonga rose to prominence in wrestling with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) before joining WWE.

Career
Tama Tonga started his wrestling career in 2008, performing with his father and Ricky Santana in Florida. He and his brother started as The Sons of Tonga in 2008, fighting in companies such as Southern Championship Wrestling and World Xtreme Wrestling. Tama later performed as Kava and King Tonga Jr. for Puerto Rico's World Wrestling Council, capturing the WWC World Tag Team Championship.
Tama relocated to Japan in 2010 and began working for New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). He made his appearance as Tama Tonga and became a founding member of the Bullet Club, a prominent wrestling club, in 2013. Together with his brother, Tanga Loa, they created Guerrillas of Destiny (G.O.D.) and won many IWGP Tag Team Championships.
Tama also wrestled in Mexico for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), winning the CMLL World Tag Team Championship. Tama Tonga made an important move to WWE in 2024, joining SmackDown's The Bloodline stable.
