Rashid Shaheed Career
Rashid Shaheed went to Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego from 2013 to 2016 and played college football at Weber State from 2017 to 2021. He became the only player in school history to earn All-American honors four times. Shaheed set a record with seven career kickoff return touchdowns and had a 100-yard return in a 2021 game.
He finished his college career with 5,478 all-purpose yards, ranking third in school history, and also recorded 2,178 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. His kick return average was an impressive 29.1 yards per return.
On May 2, 2022, Rashid Shaheed signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent. After being released on August 30, he joined the practice squad and was promoted to the active roster on October 15. In his NFL debut, he scored a 44-yard rushing touchdown, followed by a 53-yard touchdown catch in his second game.
Shaheed switched to jersey number 22 in 2023 and had a career-best game in Week 8, with 153 receiving yards and a touchdown. He was selected for the 2024 Pro Bowl and signed a one-year, $5.2 million contract extension in July 2024.
