The Sakamoto Days anime is set to premiere in January 2025! It's gonna be a big deal because it's made by TMS, the studio behind famous shows like Detective Conan and Dr. Stone. You can watch it on Netflix when it comes out. We only got a tiny peek at what's coming in the teaser. Masaki Watanabe is the director, Taku Kishimoto is writing the scripts, and Yo Moriyama is drawing the characters. But we still don't know much about the other folks working on it.

So far, we only know one actor for sure. Tomokazu Sugita is gonna voice Taro Sakamoto, the main character. He's done some cool roles before in shows like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. As we get closer to the big day, they'll probably tell us about the rest of the cast. Maybe some more famous names will join in too! Can't wait to see it.

Sakamoto Days Anime Synopsis

The first preview video (PV) for the Sakamoto Days anime gave us a look at its main character, Taro Sakamoto. Once known as the top assassin, he used to be a slim guy with round glasses and a bun hairstyle. In the PV, he's shown smoking and handling a gun, effortlessly taking out some guys.

But then, his life as an assassin changed when he decided to settle down with his wife and become a dad. Now he runs a store and has put on some weight. However, his past keeps coming back to haunt him, as he faces off against other assassins. The video promises lots of action for viewers.

The Sakamoto Days anime will also feature other interesting characters, like Sakamoto's wife Aoi, and their daughter Hana. There's also Shin, who can read minds, and Lu Shaotang, a martial arts pro. Manga readers know that more intriguing assassins will be introduced as the series goes on, like Nagumo and Uzuki.

Sakamoto Days is a Japanese manga created by Yuto Suzuki. It's been running in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since November 2020. So far, there are 17 tankōbon volumes collecting the chapters, up until June 2024. You can also read it in English thanks to Viz Media and Manga Plus.

The story is about Taro Sakamoto, a retired famous hitman who's now leading a quiet life with his family. But things take a turn when his old enemies and fellow hitmen show up seeking revenge. To keep his family safe, Sakamoto has to use his amazing fighting skills against all sorts of enemies while pretending to be just an ordinary guy.

Is Sakamoto Days suitable for children?

Considering the intense battles and detailed violence depicted in Sakamoto Days, it may not be suitable for all children. While Shonen Jump manga is primarily targeted towards young boys, some readers might find the level of violence surprising. However, it's this very intensity that makes the fights in Sakamoto Days so captivating.
