Tekken is a Japanese fighting game franchise created and published by Namco Entertainment. The franchise has also been adapted into film and print versions. Namco developed the first entry of the franchise in 1994. The main games follow the plot of the series, which revolves around the battle for control of the Mishima zaibatsu. Players control a variety of characters as they attempt to win this tournament and take control of the zaibatsu company.

The Mishima family's rivalry serves as the focal point of the series, while other characters explore the motivations of other characters as they seek to take control of the Zaibatsu. The game's core gameplay revolves around fighting an opponent face-to-face. The game's gameplay system includes blocks, throws and escapes, as well as ground fighting. New items added to the TEKKEN SHOP

• New costume packs "NINJA Pack" and "SHINOBI Pack" will be available for all playable characters.
• A legacy costume for "Lili" will be available.
• One free avatar customization item.

Functional improvements, Bug fixes.

• Optimization of packet transmission and reception as well as rollback processing during online matches.
• Improvement of the logic for detecting processing delay displayed as red icon in the bottom right corner of the screen during online matches.
• The parameter names for each item in "PLAY STATS" have been improved for better clarity.
• Improvement made to "My Replay & Tips" allowing players to skip entrance and victory animations during replay playback.
• Optimized loading times in "Exciting Replay."
• Fixed an issue in "Character Customization" where it was possible to customize both "Kijin Face Guard" and "Surgical Mask" for Reina simultaneously.
• Fixed a bug in "Character Customization" where the skin color of the upper body was not as intended.
• Other miscellaneous improvements and bug fixes were implemented.

TEKKEN 8 is the latest installment in the long-running TEKKEN series, bringing the battle to a new generation. The game features a variety of technical updates and reimagined features. The story mode, The Dark Awakens, is set six months after its predecessor and centers around the final confrontation between father Kazuya (Kazuya Mishima) and son Jin (Jin Kazama) Mishima, who wants to kill the first one in order to put an end to the chaos in their family line. The game also features 32 characters, both old and new, with their own stories that contribute to the overall narrative.

Tekken 8 is the eighth game in the TEKKEN series and the tenth overall. The game was first announced in August 2022 at the Evo 2022, and the official presentation took place the following month at the Sony’s State of Play event (January 26, 2024).
