Black also announced that it wouldn't be "appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour," placing the group's "creative plans on hold." He thanked fans for their support and understanding. The controversy had already resulted in the postponement of Tuesday's gig in Newcastle, New South Wales.

Jack Black Cancels Tour After The Comment Made By His Bandmate
On Tuesday, Jack Black abruptly canceled the world tour for his comedy rock band Tenacious D after bandmate Kyle Gass made a joke onstage about the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
Early Tuesday morning, Frontier Touring, which is promoting the Tenacious D and the Spicy Meatball Tour, announced that the show scheduled for that evening at the Newcastle Entertainment Center in Australia had been postponed. Jack Black's announcement about the tour's cancellation followed shortly after trade publications began reporting on the postponed show.
Before canceling the tour, Tenacious D had several more dates scheduled in Australia and a couple of shows planned in New Zealand. The band also had upcoming performances in the United States this fall for the Tenacious D: Rock D Vote Tour.
