What Happened to Ozzie Albies?
Ozzie Albies who is the second baseman for the Atlanta Braves, got hurt during a game against the Houston Astros and had to go on the injured list because he broke his toe. Even though he finished playing, the injury was serious enough to keep him out of future games. In his place, the Braves brought in David Fletcher, an experienced player, from their minor league team. Albies, who's 27 years old, was doing really well at the beginning of the season.
He had a batting average of .317 hit two home runs and stole two bases in the first 15 games. We're not sure how long he'll be out because toe injuries can take about five weeks to heal, but it varies for each person.

Albies won the National League Silver Slugger Award for second basemen two times, in 2019 and 2021. Additionally, in 2021, he received the Heart & Hustle Award.

Career
Ozzie Albies started playing baseball with the Braves in 2013 and quickly moved up the ranks. Since joining the Major League Baseball in 2017, he's been a key player for Atlanta. Albies is great at hitting, getting on base, and hitting home runs. He can hit from both sides, which makes it hard for pitchers to predict his moves. On defense, he's solid, making smart plays and throws from second base. He's earned awards for his excellent play, but he's also had to deal with injuries. In April 2024, he hurt his foot and had to take a break from playing.
