CenterPoint Energy expects to restore power to around 1 million customers in Houston by the end of the day on Wednesday, July 10. After Hurricane Beryl hit, customers were without power for most of the day and there were no estimates for when it would be restored. The storm caused power outages for over 2 million customers in Houston on Monday morning, affecting almost 85% of CenterPoint Energy's service area.
With temperatures rising to very hot levels this week, an additional 1 million customers might still be without power after Wednesday. The National Weather Service has issued a warning about the dangerous conditions caused by the loss of power and air conditioning in southeast Texas.
