American actor Glen Thomas Powell Jr. was born on October 21, 1988 Before securing a major role in the comedy-horror series Scream Queens (2015–2016), he started his career with small roles in movies like Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003) and Fast Food Nation (2006).

In addition to playing astronaut John Glenn in Hidden Figures (2016) and aviator Thomas Hudner in Devotion (2022), he starred in the teen comedy Everybody Wants Some!! (2016) and the romantic comedy Set It Up (2018).Powell became more well-known for his leading part in the romantic comedy Anyone but You (2023) and his supporting role in the action movie Top Gun: Maverick (2022).

In Austin, Texas, Glen Thomas Powell Jr. was reared. He is the son of homemaker Cyndy and executive coach Glen Powell Sr. His great-great-grandfather Mustapha Chutsky, also known as Stephen Chutsky, is the source of his paternal Lipka Tatar ancestry.

Powell played lacrosse and football in high school at Westwood High School in northwest Austin, where he graduated in 2007.He studied at the University of Texas at Austin's Moody College of Communication.

He co-starred as Finnegan in Richard Linklater's spiritual follow-up to Dazed & Confused, Everybody Wants Some!!, which was shot in Austin and distributed by Paramount on March 30, 2016.
