Who was Blake Harrison?

Blake Harrison was a former Pig Destroyer member, who featured Noise, Samples and other sound design in Pig Destroyer from 2006 until 2022, Passed away. He created sounds using noise, sampling, and other methods. On social media, the group honored Harrison with the post, "Everyone that knew Blake loved Blake." Harrison was 48 years old at the time of death .

Since his early teenage years , Harrison has been a fan of punk music. He later joined the bands Daybreak and Triac and began working behind the scenes with Pig Destroyer in 2004.He joined the group during the recording of the band's 2007 album, Phantom Limb, as a full-time electronics player and a boisterous addition to the live performance.

Harrison is most known for his work with the American grindcore band, which he was a member of from 2006 until 2022. He has also contributed to Tentacles of God, Triac, Zealot R.I.P., Daybreak, and Hatebeak. Harrison performed outside of Pig Destroyer with bands like Zealot R.I.P. and Tentacles of God, an ambient project influenced by H. P. Lovecraft.

He also worked with Matmos on The Consuming Flame: Open Exercises in Group Form, released in 2020, and more recently, with Sunrot and Blacklisters. He went on to play on the EPs Book Burner (2012), Head Cage (2018), The Octagonal Stairway (2020), and Mass & Volume (2016), where he also took up bass.
