Hidilyn Diaz Age
As of 2024, Hidilyn Diaz is 33 years old. She was born on February 20, 1991. Hidilyn Francisco Diaz is the fifth of six children of Eduardo and Emelita Diaz. Her father worked as a tricycle driver, farmer, and fisherman. Initially interested in becoming a banker, Diaz tried various sports before starting weightlifting, taught by her cousin.
She attended Zamboanga A.E. After winning a silver medal in the 2016 Olympics, Diaz resumed her studies and later received a business management scholarship from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, graduating in July 2023.

Hidilyn Diaz began weightlifting with makeshift equipment and joined the Philippine national team at 13. She competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where she was the first Filipino female weightlifter. In the 2012 London Olympics, she was the flag bearer but did not finish.
Diaz won a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics, ending the Philippines' 20-year Olympic medal drought. She secured gold in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, breaking Olympic records. She then moved to the 59 kg weight class for the 2024 Olympics but did not qualify, finishing outside the top ten in the Olympic rankings.
