Why is Poppy Harlow Leaving CNN? What Happened To Poppy Harlow?

Poppy Harlow will be leaving CNN after nearly two decades of service. She joined the network in 2008 and has reported on some of the world’s most significant news stories, such as the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the 2015 Paris terror attacks, in her most recent role as co-host of "CNN This Morning."

“This place has been a gift to me for nearly two decades,” said Harlow, who began her career in business journalism. “I’ve grown up here as a journalist and a person, and this place has taught me resilience, perspective, and how to make difficult decisions. I’ve been inspired by you, and I’ve learned a lot from you – you are (and will always be) my dearest friends. I have made mistakes along the way, but I’ve always been supported and cared for by this CNN family, she said.

CNN had a discussion with Harlow but she decided to leave the network. In an email to her colleagues, Harlow wrote that she plans to spend more time with her family in the near future. "My plan for now is to walk our kids to and from school (hopefully they don't tire of me!) and to continue to contribute to the advancement of journalism in whatever way I can while keeping the humanity within it,” she wrote. "I'm looking forward to what lies ahead – and I'll always be a fan of CNN."
